The Audiology Center & Pediatric Early Hearing Detection & Intervention Program

At Child’s Voice we firmly believe that Audiology is a piece of the foundation that successful listening and spoken language builds from.

We know that with good access to sound and child will be able to develop better speech and language skills.

We also believe that having experienced Audiologists who are practiced in testing and providing habilitative services to infants and children is also a major key.

Our resident pediatric audiologist, Dr. Dawn Violetto, holds the title of Au.D, Doctor of Audiology, and has over 20 years experience in the field of Audiology.

Our department focuses on the evaluation of the auditory skills for each student attending Child’s Voice, the alumni and the diagnostic evaluation of children referred to our department for hearing testing by pediatricians, otolaryngologists, Early Intervention, DSCC or concerned parents.

The purpose of the new PEHDI Program is to identify babies with hearing loss and begin appropriate intervention as soon as possible.

Early, consistent and appropriate access to sound is critical for babies to develop the auditory centers of their brain and learn listening and spoken language. For more on the PEHDI Program, please see the menu to the left.
